Shop Local: How to Support Small Businesses in Your Community
Small businesses aren't just the backbone of the economy, they're a part of who we are as a community. Who doesn't have fond memories of their favorite restaurants or stores? These businesses stand to lose the most from the coronavirus shutdowns. Millions of jobs are expected to be lost in the retail industry. The National Restaurant Association forecasts $225 billion in losses with 5-7M people losing their jobs. The hardest hit will be small Mom-and-Pop stores.
Join us in supporting local businesses by getting delivery or picking items up curbside from your favorite establishments. Consider buying a gift card to give these businesses a much-needed cash infusion. Below, please see a list of stores offering these services. Keep in mind that this situation is fluid. Although we will be updating this list daily, it is still subject to change.
