DARIEN HERITAGE DAY: COLONIAL SKIRMISH, MILITARY DRILLS, AND CANNON FIRING:

Learn more about Darien's rich history at three local historical landmarks: the Museum of Darien, the First Congregational Church of Darien, and the Mather Homestead, with reenactments, military drills, cannon firing, and demonstrations featuring the Fifth CT Regiment and the 15th Regiment of Foot.
The day starts at the Museum of Darien where the Fifth CT Regiment will conduct colonial artisan and cooking demonstrations. At 10:45 am and 11:30 am, there will be Children's Musket Drills. Palmer's Market will provide complimentary refreshments.
At 12:45 at the First Congregational Church of Darien, the 15th Regiment of Foot and local volunteers will perform a play recounting the 1781 Raid of the Middlesex Meetinghouse.
The day will end at the Mather Homestead with a re-enactment of the 1781 raid on the Mather Farm, a military drill, cannon firing, and a demonstration of a skirmish between British and Colonial troops. For more information, click here.
